The Mercy Diabetes Center and its Certified Diabetes Educators are available to assist those living with diabetes by teaching state of the art skills and by offering current diabetes management training and support for pre-diabetes, type 1, type 2, or gestational diabetes. The program also utilizes the Dexcom Continuous Blood Glucose Monitor to help you & your physician learn more about your glucose trends & improve your diabetes therapy.
As a matter of fact, the Mercy Diabetes Center has been recognized by the American Diabetes Association as meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education.
The Mercy Diabetes Center is located in St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and can be accessed utilizing the hospital's East Entrance (also known as the Mercy Women's Health Center).
The diabetes center sponsors a support group on the fourth Thursday of each month (January - October). The center also sponsors an annual diabetes education fair, generally, in November of each year.
