Cancer Care
SJMHS is a leader in cancer care.  Your gift will benefit patients and families who rely on us for a full spectrum of cancer care from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.

Our expert team of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals work together to provide the latest treatments using advanced technology, such as CyberKnife® and RapidArc® for radiation therapy, and they offer leading-edge research studies and compassionate support services.  Our patients also benefit from coordinated care offered by a point person called a Nurse Navigator who provides them with resources and guides them through the Health System and their treatment plan every step of the way.

Your gift for one of our Cancer Center is a gift to the patients and families who turn to us for advanced medicine, a healing environment, and hope.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital’s NICU provides comprehensive medicine, loving care and a healing environment for more than 500 premature and critically ill babies each year. Our expert team including neonatologists, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and other health care professionals provides immediate stabilization of newborns, comprehensive evaluation, medical support, and when necessary transportation. The NICU is a high-tech facility that includes a resuscitation room connected to the c-section room for quick and efficient stabilization of infants.  It is outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment such as Giraffe® Omnibeds®, which convert from a warmer to an isolette, and a cerebral function monitor. And, the NICU staff strives to provide advanced medical care with compassion in a way that meets the needs of the infant and family by providing a welcoming environment that promotes comfort and hope for parents.

The Neighborhood Family Health Center
The Neighborhood Family Health Center located in Ypsilanti provides care to more than 5,000 uninsured and underinsured patients in Washtenaw County each year. Your thoughtful gift will help to provide patients with comprehensive medical treatment, health education, assistance making connections to community resources and access to essentials for improving their health and wellness. Your commitment will help us to provide patients, many of whom would otherwise go without care, with quality health services that go beyond medicine to heal body, mind and spirit.

Cardiovascular Care
St. Joseph Mercy Hospital was ranked as a 50 Top Cardio Hospital in 2012 by Thomas Reuter. We are not only committed to the latest technology and state-of-the-art medical and surgical treatment for cardiovascular care, but also to the prevention and rehabilitation of cardiovascular disease and its progression through our comprehensive exercise, nutrition, research and education programs.

Patients who turn to St. Joe’s for care have access to the latest clinical advancements including treatments using the da Vinci® Robotic Surgery System. This minimally invasive approach offers an alternative for many traditional procedures including open-heart surgery. Patients benefit from reduced risks of infection, shorter patient stays and quicker recovery.

Your generosity will make a difference for patients and families who depend on St. Joe’s for innovative education and support services, compassionate care and life-saving treatments.

Senior Emergency Center
Your gift for the Senior ERSM will help us to continue providing specialized emergency care to address the unique and often complex needs of adults ages 65 and over living in your community.

An alternative to the traditional rapid pace of the ER, a specialty-trained team of emergency physicians, nurses and other health care experts at the Senior ERSM will thoroughly assess the patient’s physical ability, cognitive status and level of risk for pre-existing medical conditions, medication interactions, insufficient nutrition, dementia, living condition concerns and even depression. This innovative approach helps to develop a personalized care plan that promotes recovery, health and wellness.

Patients will also benefit from amenities including pressure-reducing mattresses and reclining chairs; soft lighting and noise buffers to reduce anxiety; and non-slip / non-glare floors, handrails and hearing and vision aids to enhance safety.

Your generosity will help us to provide emergency services that meet the needs of seniors in your community.
